5 Must Have Mac Apps

Posted by Ahmed on October 8, 2012 in Gadgets & Technology tagged with , ,

I recently switched from a Windows Laptop to a Macbook and like many before, I will emphasise:

“Once you go Mac, you won’t go back!”

The Mac is great and an experience to use. It just works. One of the great features of the new OS is the Mac App Store that contain thousands of great apps to download with the click of a button. I’m going to recommend 5 apps you should download today.

Dropbox

If you haven’t heard of Dropbox then head over to their site and create an account today. Dropbox, you can say, is your documents folder in the cloud. So, once you download the app, you can drag and drop any file into the dropbox folder and it will automatically be available on any computer/device you download Dropbox too. Best of all, it’s free.

1Password

I’ve been researching various password managers over the last week and came down to two. 1Password & LastPass. Both are fantastic and great. LastPass has a monthly fee of $1 for their premium account whereas 1Password is a one-off fee. I personally went for LastPass however 1Password has the superior interface. A great tool to securely manage all you passwords and sensitive information.

Sparrow

For those who need a bit more out of email on the desktop, Sparrow is the app. Recently acquired by Google, Sparrow will help you spend less time on mail.

Skype

Skype is a must for all home and offices. It’s the most popular IM application in the world. It allows, chat, video calling, screen sharing etc.

Pages

Apple’s Pages app is the most beautiful word processor you will come across. It helps you produce great-looking documents and costs £13.99 at the time of writing this.
